I am Dr Antonius de Rooij, I am the lecturer for the materials for space applications course. Somethings about background. I am born in Amsterdam. After my engeneering and metallurgy degrees I recieved a PhD in metal physics with a topic in thermodynamics. I started working at the European space agency centre ESTEC in 1982 end was until 2000 the principle metallurgist and in 2001 I became head of the materials technology section. I supported all ESA space projects, including telecommunications satellites, space science and the manned Spacelab, Columbus and ISS.I gave Materials and Processes course to small and medium enterprices since 2001.
